Atlantis – Tracker

by Rob on Feb.22, 2009, under Stargate Atlantis

I haven’t watched Atlantis in a long time.  So I dropped by this morning to watch some on scifi rewind.  I picked the Tracker episode.  Very good episode in general.  Good action, simple plot.  Ronan is still the best character on the show in my opinion, with Rodney a close second.

Anyway, one of the reasons I sort of stopped watching Atlantis was because it seemed like it  was going all over the place.  I really liked the first 2 seasons.  From there on, a few episodes here and there were very good.  But in general I felt I could pick up Atlantis at anytime and not feel like I missed something big.

This episode “Tracker” is a good example. It adds very little value to the series other than being a good single episode.  I really enjoy a series that builds on every episode until a cliff hanger season finally.  Then each season builds on the previous.  Battlestar Galactica does this very well, so does Dr Who.

Anyway, it was nice to see Jewel Staite again after a great stint on Firefly.  She is really awesome.  I’ll have to start watching the episodes in a series rather than spot picking them on scifi rewind.  Maybe I’ll get the bigger picture.
